Metamorphosis of the leader and the company
What is the role of the leader in the transformation of their company?
To what extent does he allow himself to be influenced, does he draw sustenance from others (employees, stakeholders, the field, the context)? Conversely, to what extent does it influence and transform the world within and at the gates of its company?
What are the obstacles and barriers to this transformation?
These are the key issues at the heart of this study – “The Transformation of the Leader and Their Company – The Resonance of Influence Phenomena for a Contributive Economy.”
Research objectives
This action research project pursues the following objectives:
- Documenting the ingredients that promote (or prevent) the metamorphosis of companies by understanding the profound transformation of the leader, the person, the teams and the organization.
- Understanding the role of the leader in initiating or not this profound transformation, assessing his level of psychosocial maturity and his socio-perception of being in resonance with employees, the company and the issues and challenges of society.
- Understanding the elements of influence of the ecosystem in the transformation
- Identify the circularity of influences
- Identify the factors driving and hindering this transformation
- Understanding how associativity, this capacity to create links of interaction to build the invisible organization, can help transformation
This study follows on from the first two action research projects conducted by HLU. These aimed to explore the intelligence of the heart in action in the leader and in his company as well as the links between the intelligence of the heart and corporate governance structure.
The methodology
- Disciplines involved
The project lies at the crossroads of several disciplines, including sociology (the environment in which the leader operates), psychology, and anthropology (evolution, historical perspective).
- Key concepts
the humanist metamorphosis, associativity, resonance/socio-perception, mechanical organization versus organic/living organization
- The field of study
Business leaders (particularly those from the “From heart to action” program developed by HLU) and employees of these same companies.
The research will be based on a qualitative approach, essential for studying the complex phenomenon of profound transformation of leaders, teams, and organizations. The choice of narrative approach is essential for producing rich stories including an interpretation tool through which individuals make sense of their experiences. The preferred method will be semi-structured interviews, allowing each person a free expression of their experience, a moment of introspection, in order to deepen what the theme inspires in them.
